Girls Discovered

Global girls facts

Across South Asia, more than one in four girls (26.6%) aged 15-24 years are illiterate, meaning they are unable to read and write simple sentences.

School participation is also linked to lower levels of childbearing in adolescence. In Pakistan, this figure rises to 39%; illiteracy amongst boys, however, is 21%.
